“Softly let me kiss your lips, and gently let me take down your hair. You make me want to love so bad, and I just don’t have another care in the whole damn world... You know I was born to make you happy; all you have to do is lay down next to me.”
A letter, a love letter- that’s what this is, accompanied by strings and a besotted bard's promise.
And then there is…
“Baby’s got another lover, something I don’t understand. She said she loved me with all her heart, this other lover ain't no natural man, he’s got no soft and tender ways…”
Then goes…
“I’ve got a mind to give up living, and to go shopping instead. Get me a tombstone, and be pronounced dead…”
And everything that this bard’s got, they got from paying their dues. I listened, listened deep into the night, a mountain of blues over me.
As the night wore on and neared twilight, I understood the bard's wail for I had never had the blues before I met her. Now, I never see the sunshine, with dark clouds hanging over my head all the time.
I wondered whether the troubles would end with the coming morning. Oh, will my troubles ever end?
Albeit lonesome, the company felt a little bearable with the drifting sound of the music: music, the most sought-after balm. Not just the prose and the rhythm, but the soothing and peace, allowing each note to soothe the restless heart.
You might wonder why I’m drooling all over this white, and I’ll tell you why.
I love beautiful music, and nothing more than to appreciate it with fellow connoisseurs of art. And so we’ll have the pleasure, a few days from today, at Chronos in Lavington.
