“Size yako, what do you mean size yako if I can see the top of your head! The audacity of these short Kings,” the hostess said to a cackle of laughter from the tall babes on either side of the red carpeted aisle, sauntering elegantly for all to see.
Was I to feel sorry for the short king?
“I was bullied for most of my life,” She went on. “Some even nicknamed me a giraffe,” to more laughter.
“But now, I am confident in my height and don’t have to slouch to accommodate any expectations. I walk around with my head up high, towering above all, and enjoying the aura of the attention it brings.”
Ululations broke, and she snapped her finger, cat-walking the length of the room.
“Looking around tonight at these beautiful faces, I can’t help but marvel at our gift, the beauty of being different in a society traditionally intimidated by a woman embracing her height,” and up on their feet they were, clapping and clocking with pleasure, or I’d say self-satisfaction.

I had never been surrounded by so many tall beauties before. Despite the initial clause cutting close to home, I wasn’t about to feel sorry for being an audacious short king, haha!
Let’s say the audacity is what makes you recognized down here, or nobody would really notice you in a world where interactions are dictated by social standards bound to change by emanating trends.
Yet as I listened to the sentiments at the Tall Babes-254, I couldn’t help but realize that we are who we are. Tall or short, you were bound to have a sly comment thrown your way. What matters is how you choose to wear it, as your shame or your blessing!
And as the ladies shared their experiences in an askew world, and marveled at the chance of a community of like beauties, it was apparent that this was just the beginning of a tall babe’s takeover of the city!
Organized for the tall ladies, over 5’ 8’’, by the siren, Akal Susan, and hosted by Jean Ojiro at the Southfield mall on the weekend, the Tall Babes-254 lived up to its tag, Tu-Tower-Tesa!
Now, the second edition will be in August; this time, gents will be invited, with the cut-off at 6 feet and above.
Obviously, I’d be advised not to hold out in waiting for an invitation, coz I won’t be able to grow the few inches needed (in height, you dirty-minded scoundrel), but I’m waiting still, because I’m an audacious short king!
